Scripture Sunday: Before We Finish Praying

Before he had finished praying....
Genesis 24: 15 (NIV)

Today's passage is short & sweet, but so very powerful to me.  If you read Genesis 24, you'll see that Abraham had sent his servant to find a wife for Isaac from among his own country and relatives.  The servant prayed that God would grant him success and show him the one that Isaac was to marry.  While many things stood out to me in this passage, such as how God used a willing servant & how the servant prayed for a sign from God, one of the most powerful phrases was found in verse 15.  It states that while the servant was still praying, God answered his prayer!  It is so comforting to me to know that God knows our needs even before we speak them, and although I might not always have the answer I want when I want it, God ultimately hears & is working on my behalf (see also Romans 8:28).  Of course, this doesn't mean that I should just stop praying because God already knows what I need!  It is God's greatest desire that we have a relationship with Him.  And what is one of the most important components to a relationship?  Communication, of course!
