Tablescape Thursday: A Vintage-Inspired Easter

He said to them, "Therefore every teacher of the law who has been instructed about the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom NEW treasures as well as OLD."
Matthew 13:52 (NIV)

As I was perusing a couple stores a little while back, I came across some vintage-like Easter postcards.  Although I loved them, at the time I didn't know how I could use them, so I chose not to purchase them.

But a couple weeks ago, as I was thinking about how I wanted to decorate my table this Easter, it hit me that I could use them on my table.
Why hadn't I thought of that before?
So I ran back to the store to buy them all up, & to my dismay, they had sold out.
(Am I the only one that does that?  Thinks about things too long, and then they're gone?!)

But now that I had this image in my head, I was determined to find something similar.  After a little looking, I came across some similar cards at a few other stores, just enough for the tablescape!

So my inspiration for this very pastel, vintage Easter tablescape came from the little postcards.

In this tablescape, the OLD is mixed with the NEW, as well as a few NEW items that look OLD.

I knew I wanted to keep things light, with vintage-like pastel colors, so I began with my go-to cream color tablecloth to set a neutral backdrop.

Next was the antique white wooden chargers, which although new, have a vintage look.

I only have four circle chargers, so I used coordinating oval chargers on the ends.

I used the same dinnerware I used last Easter, choosing the yellow dinner plate & cream salad plate for four of the place settings.......

........and the green dinner plate & yellow salad plate for the ends.

Here's a closer look at the dinnerware:

Each place setting also received a cabbage plate.

In keeping with the "new mixed with vintage" feel, I chose to use my wedding goblets along side these small goblets that belonged to my grandmother.  I just love the square base!

Every since Pottery Barn came out with this antique silver flatware, I've absolutely loved it.  Knowing that it's vintage appeal would be perfect for this tablescape, I decided to buy myself an early birthday present!

The antique silver napkin ring/place card holder showcases a cream eyelet napkin surrounded by a soft pink napkin, which ties in with the pink centerpiece.
My handmade place cards, used in last year's table setting, are pulled out and used again.
{Click here for place card tutorial & here to see last year's tablescape.}

A vintage postard, sitting on a small easel, a glittery egg, & a fresh flower adorn each place setting, while a small piece of chocolate, wrapped in vintage Easter paper, sits as a little treat for each guest.

The center of the table showcases this pale pink vintage "tree" {tutorial to come soon}, on which I displayed more postcards & glittery eggs with vintage scenes.

Here's how it looks from a few different angles.

Here are a few close ups.

On one side of the "tree" sits two shabby chic bird cages, while the other side holds a light teal bunny with a distressed "crackle" finish.

{It was difficult to get a good shot of the whole table without distracting decor in the background.  I moved the decor off of my buffet to help a little!}

The larger birdcage holds a pink votive holder, used as a small flower vase, while the smaller birdcage houses more glittery eggs & shows off another postcard.

And as a bonus, here's a couple pics of my MIL's beautiful Easter table.

She used some of her Old Country Roses dinnerware.
And don't you just love the beautiful floral centerpiece she put together?
