As I've previously shared, rather than completely changing my decor with each changing season, I like to just slightly alter my existing decor, adding subtle touches of the current season here & there. (The only exception to this is Christmas, where I tend to "flood" my home with decorations!)
Two weeks ago I shared my egg & nest-filled glass canisters, & last week I shared the "nesting" I had done on my entry table. This week I want to share with you my Gracious Goods cake stand that rests year-around on my kitchen countertop.
Here is how she looks "in-between" seasons. (Yes, it's a she.)
I could store her, hidden away in a cabinet somewhere, but she's so pretty that I think she deserves a place of honor. {Not to mention that it would take up a good chunk of my storage space......space that is so desperately needed for other dishes!}
While the cake stand is beautiful in & of itself, uhh herself, I like to add a little touch of the season to it when it's not in use.
This year I'm having a little difficulty deciding how I best like it, though, so I would love to have your feedback!

Here's what she looked like last spring with a moss-covered bunny, some faux greenery, and a few eggs:
I could repeat this look again, but I tend to like to change things from year-to-year.
So here are my options for this year:
First is the more natural look. A brown & cream bird rests on a sheet of moss, while a nest and a few eggs gather around.
{I love the touches of blue on the bird!} |
Here's the second option:
I kept the sheet of moss and simply added two turquoise birds, one of them perched on a rock. (I absolutely love anything turquoise, especially this time of year.) I love the pop of color this option adds. At the end, I also decided to tie on a little burlap ribbon.
Finally, there's this option, somewhat of a combination of the two. A turquoise bird rests on a nest, while a few eggs are scattered about.
So what do you think: natural-looking, pair of turquoise birds, or bird resting on nest? Or I'm open to other ideas as well!

i like the last grouping. the turquoise bird on the nest. i think bright bird with the darker cloche vase looks beautiful together. but again, that's my opinion. they are all pretty, however!
ReplyDeletethanks for linking up to the SPRING FLING!

I like the first grouping, the natural one! I love the bird with the touch of turquoise. Good luck deciding!
