Wildcard Wednesday: Signs of Spring......In the Garden

WE HAVE BLOOMS!

The last few weeks I've been sharing some of the signs of spring throughout my house....little touches here & there.....mostly decorations.....but this week we have the first TRUE signs of spring........
the first blooms of the season!

If you remember, a few weeks ago, I shared about the knockout roses & my anticipation of them blooming again soon.
Well, guess what?  They're here!
Not only did they start blooming this past week, but they took off with a vengeance.....

 There's something about the first blooms that just makes me giddy!  I love coming home after a hard day at work & pulling in the driveway to be greeted by all the colorful flowers!

We have a few other blooms in our front yard as well:

 And see that iron archway leading to our backyard?

Well, slowly we have some roses blooming on it as well......

.....and a couple more close by....

To give you a better idea, here's a few more pics of the yard:

{That's a globe blue spruce, but for some reason, in all the pics, it looks white!}

{You'll have to forgive the bags of mulch laying around....always a work in progress!}

And before I go, here's a few flowers my hubby brought home this week.
{Okay, I admit, I'm cheating a little because they're not actually planted yet, but I just couldn't wait.  Plus, I had to show off the new turquoise pot I recently purchased at TJ Maxx!  Have I mentioned how much I love turquoise?}

Happy Spring!

  1. Your yard and gardens look so perfect...not a weed or blade of grass out of line. A true person after my own heart. You are farther along in your season than we are here in Illinois, but I see signs in my yard too. Thanks for making my day with a beautiful garden I so love.

  3. Oh gosh, where do you live that you have all those blooms already, I'm so jealous. I love the roses, I call those wild roses or sea roses - they grow along the ocean around here, but not for a couple more months at least :/ I'm your newest follower. Stop by and visit my blog anytime!

  4. Your yard is amazing!!! We are currently working on our backyard and creating 2 new large flowerbeds. It is alot of work, but I can't wait til everything starts blooming and growing!! Is that purple plant that looks a little like lavendar, salvia?? I tried growing it in my front yard (west facing) and it always lays down. Is there a trick to it?? Does it need lots of water? If you have time, I'd love it if you would check out my backyard posts.........
    Thanks and have a blessed day and a wonderful Easter week-end!!

  7. Thanks for all of the wonderful comments! I really can't take much credit. My husband owns his own landscaping business, so he's responsible for most of what you see!
    Michelle - I live in Oklahoma - far from the ocean! I would love to live closer to the coast! Believe or not, less than 2 weeks ago, we didn't have a single rose!
    Shelley - That is salvia. Our house faces East, but honestly I'm not sure if there is some trick to it. I'll check w/my hubby & let you know. And I'll pop by your blog, too!

  19. I'm trying so very hard not to covet your beautiful flowers. We bought our home 5 years ago and slowly, but steadily we've cut out all of the over grown old bushes and started planting new flowers. It is a slow process and I live for the day I have such beauty to enjoy.
