God set Him on high at His side, PRINCE and Savior, to give Israel the gift of a changed life and sins forgiven.
Acts 5:31 (The Message)
Where you among those who woke up at the crack of dawn to watch the royal wedding?
I have to admit, I like my sleep way too much to do that!
But I did DVR it. And Saturday afternoon, while my hubby was playing in a golf tournament, I took a little time to fix myself a treat & sat down to watch the wedding.
Taking my color cues from Union Jack, I chose a mix of ROYAL blue, REGAL red, & WEDDING white. Throw in a few gold crowns, and you have the perfect representation of British royalty, don't you think?
A gold tray and a ROYAL blue napkin, working as a small tablecloth, serve as a backdrop for this British-inspired trayscape.
A white plate with a gold CROWN design sits atop a slightly larger red plate.
A coordinating mug sits close by for tea or your beverage of choice.
{I have to admit, I'm not really much of a tea drinker myself. If I'm having something sweet, some ice cold milk is more "my cup of tea".}
A teapot is elevated to its place of HONOR on a glass pedastal.
A red rose, picked fresh from the garden, adds a bit of ROMANCE.
A small gold crown, borrowed from a group of crowns in my bedroom, and a votive holder, add to the ROYAL feel.
Anyone care to join me for a spot of tea milk?

Since I did not get to attend the wedding festivities I now feel as if I participated!I think the tea tray and all the items are so fun and special. Cheers
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little treat for one you made while you watched the royals.
ReplyDeleteOh Just beautiful, elegant and so colorful a tea scape! Our oldest daughter and our youngest daughter and I woke up at the crack of dawn to watch live coverage. We had cream cheese tea sandwiches, homemade chocolate chip scones , homemade sponge cake and hot sweet tea. It was a lot of fun and a nice memory with my girls. I used our Butterfly Meadow Lenox tea service and dishes and linens passed down....napkins and breakfast cloth. When Diana was married I watched it on a tiny TV up in an attic bedroom .I was a nanny to wealthy 2 little girls in Asheville, NC.The job was not a glamorous position and it was humbling....Thank you for the lovely setting you documented! Emelia.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect way to watchh the Royal wedding. I love your dishes!
ReplyDeleteLove it! An entirely different direction than the way I went for the RW, (far earlier than the crack of dawn here...) I'm enjoying the bold colors and clean design.
ReplyDeleteI love this "mood" and may use it for the next one ;0)
I'm visiting from BNOTP.

I was up well before dawn to see the wedding in real time too. I love your crown dishes. What a hoot.
ReplyDeleteWhat a regal setting! I love the "Kings Road Redux" pieces. Very different and very elegant.
ReplyDeleteI was invited to attend a wedding breakfast the day of the Royal Wedding. I just couldn't bring myself to leave my house at 5:30 a.m. or earlier, even for a party, and still have to go to work! So I did what you did. Dvr'd the wedding and watched is later in the weekend! I thoroughly enjoyed it then.

There seem to be lots of us blogging about Royal things this last week, and I do love your "Royal" setting! ...especially that plate..
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your Royal teaset. It is gorgeous and I love your traysetting. Gorgeous. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI will confess, I did get up to watch the Royal Wedding. I made scones the night before and before I knew it, my hubby was watching with me. He was up for work, but he enjoyed having his English breakfast tea and a scone too. I love the little setting you created for yourself, and the crown is a wonderful touch! I've enjoyed my visit today!
