Wildcard Wednesday: Signs of Spring.....On the Front Porch

Last week I took a little break from my "Signs of Spring" series to share some pics from this fabulous fashion show I attended.  {Check it out if you haven't already.  The dresses are amazing!}

But this week I have a little more spring to share......just a few changes to our front porch.  During the fall & winter, our front door typically displays a seasonal wreath, but the remainder of the year, it is usually bare.  This last week, however, I added a little SPRING to the front door.

{This pic is actually on the inside of our backdoor, off the kitchen.  This is where I hung it to put the arrangement together, & because of the grueling 95* heat outside, I decided to keep it there for a day or so, so that the flowers would still be fresh for company the next day!}

But on Mother's Day, it got moved to the front door to provide a "spring-filled" welcome.

 A mix of bright yellow daisies and hot pink roses add some much needed vibrant color to the door!

 {Distressing & refinishing the front door is another project on our LONG LIST of things to do.}

Now I'll back up a little so you can get a broader look at our front porch........you see the fountain on the right?  Mr. Dishaholic put that together last week!

{One of our VERY SOON projects is to install a cobblestone walkway in the area in front of the bed!}

Here's a better angle.

 Yes, Mr. Dishaholic is quite talented!

{Our sprinkler system was on while I was taking these pics, so it's just a little wet.}

He even put a LED light in it, so you can still see it at night!

And here's a little look at the flower bed that greets you as you walk up to the front door.

Well, that's it for now.  Thanks for stopping by.

  1. What a lovely flatback basket filled with flowers. Those are the exact bright colours that I'm going to use when I make the bouquets for my son's wedding this weekend - love them. You have such a pretty entrance and definitely a talented hubby to make the fountain.
